Why Promo Codes Stop Working (and What to Try Instead)

By CouponBuz Team Β·

When a code is rejected, one of a handful of things is usually happening.

The offer has ended

Retailers end promotions on a date, or when stock or budget runs out. Codes can stop working before the stated expiry.

The code has a usage limit

Single-use codes and per-customer limits are common. If you have used a similar offer before, you may not be eligible.

Your basket does not qualify

Minimum spends, excluded brands and category limits all cause rejections. Remove excluded items and try again.

The region does not match

A code made for one country will fail on another country's site. Check you are on the right regional store.

The code was copied wrongly

Codes are often case-sensitive. A stray space at the end is another frequent culprit.

What to try next

Look for a newsletter welcome offer, check the retailer's own sale page, or wait for the next seasonal event.

CouponBuz may earn a commission when you use a link on this site to buy something. This never changes the price you pay.
